The official Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen Display does work with the Raspberry Pi 4, however there are a couple of things to watch out for:
- Cases: Most cases on the market are designed for the Raspberry Pi 2 and 3, as the display was released back when these boards were the latest models. This means the majority of cases won't fit a Raspberry Pi 4. The SmartiPi Touch 2 is designed for the Raspberry Pi 4 and is a great choice as it includes a power splitting cable.
- Power: To power the display and Raspberry Pi 4 together, simply plug your official Raspberry Pi Power Supply into the Raspberry Pi, then use the jumper wires to send power from the Raspberry Pi GPIO to the display (similar to what is seen in our assembly guide): https://thepihut.com/blogs/raspberry-pi-tutorials/45295044-raspberry-pi-7-touch-screen-assembly-guide)
