Following several queries from customers on the Argon ONE V5, we have added the following troubleshooting solutions to solve common problems:
Argon ONE V5 won't power on
-
This is usually due to the internal PCB daughter board not being fully clicked into the Raspberry Pi - you really have to give it some!
- You can sometimes tell as the gap between the board and Raspberry Pi on one side will be ever so slightly lower on one side (usually the USB-C side).
- Are you using an official Raspberry Pi 27W power supply? We strongly recommend the official power supply for all Raspberry Pi 5 uses, including cases like these with internal boards running M.2 slots
Argon ONE V5 won't boot
- First check the 'won't power on' steps above - it's very likely a poor connection with the internal PCB.
- If booting from NVMe, see below pointers too
Argon ONE V5 NVMe drive not detected
- Did you install the scripts on page 10 of the manual? If not, try this first.
- Check the PCIe cable connection (common issue)
-
Try updating your Raspberry Pi bootloader to make sure you're running the most recent version
- You can do this in Raspberry Pi Imager under 'Misc utility Images'
- It's easiest to do this with your Pi removed from the case, with a microSD card
-
Which NVMe drive are you using?
- The Raspberry Pi 5 appears to have some compatibility issues with certain models of NVMe sticks via PCI-E. We recommend using Raspberry Pi SSDs
